Carnival plans NY-PR one-way cruises

By CB Online Staff

Carnival announced plans Monday to launch its first one-way cruises between New York City and San Juan next year.

The first New York-to-San Juan cruise will launch on October 24, 2014. There will be two other sailings departing the Big Apple on January 12 and February 13 in 2015.

The cruise giant will sail three San Juan-to-New York voyages starting with a November 1, 2014 sailing from the Puerto Rico capital. The other departures will be on January 20 and February 21 in 2015

The eight-night trips on the 3,006-passenger Carnival Splendor will include several stops that wouldn’t be possible on a round-trip sailing of similar length out of New York, including day visits to the islands of Antigua and St. Kitts.

The first New York-to-San Juan cruise will take place on Oct. 24, 2014; and there will be two more on Jan. 12 and Feb. 13, 2015. Three San Juan-to-New York voyages will depart on Nov. 1, 2014; and on Jan. 20 and Feb. 21, 2015.

Carnival says that passengers can book New York-to-San Juan and San Juan-to-New York voyages back to back to create one long, two-week trip out of New York.

In addition to Antigua and St. Kitts, port calls on the sailings in both directions will include St. Thomas and St. Maarten.

Carnival already offers three eight-night roundtrip itineraries out of New York on the Splendor that mostly stop in the Bahamas and Florida.
