Puerto Rican salsa singer Andy Montañez said Thursday he is fit and ready for this weekend’s star-studded concert in San Juan to celebrate his 50 years in the business.
The concert was originally scheduled for late May, but was postponed after Montañez was badly injured in an automobile accident in Colombia in April.
“Now I’m fine after five operations on my leg,” Montañez said
The show at the Puerto Rico Coliseum on Saturday will pay tribute to his five-decade career, stretching back to his start with El Gran combo, through his years with Venezuela’s Dimensión Latina and into his stories solo success.
Montañez will be joined on stage by other musical luminaries who he has worked with including members of Atabal, Domingo Quiñones, Milly Quezada, Johnny Ventura, Victoria Sanabria, Isaac Delgado and Julio Voltio.
