NPP eyes P3 for Medical Center
Funding issues and crowding have been problems at the island’s premier public health center.
Details were sketchy on the scope of the proposed P3 for the Río Piedras Medical Center.
“My impression is that it is to be able to rehabilitate and modernize the facilities,” Pierluisi said. “That’s the way I see it, but the inclusion of some administrative elements can’t be ruled out.”
Pierluisi’s comments came as he participated in a forum sponsored by the Healthcare Financial Management Association. He was standing in standing in for Gov. Luis Fortuño.
Popular Democratic Party candidate Alejandro García Padilla, the only gubernatorial candidate to attend the forum, said he would be opposed to a P3 at the Río Piedras Medical Center.
“We wouldn’t do a P3 there,” he said.
